On a damp and sombre Remembrance Sunday, our team assembled at The Cheshire County Sports Club to face the formidable Accrington Stanley. Despite an early setback that allowed the visitors to take the lead, our team rallied together, determined to find an equaliser. The breakthrough came in the 37th minute when our captain capitalised on a loose ball that had not been cleared.
As the first half concluded, the teams headed into the break with the score levelled at 1-1. Emerging stronger in the second half, Cheshire exhibited dominance, with our captain capping off a brilliantly executed play from our own half by slotting the ball into the bottom corner. The game reached its conclusion in the 70th minute, marked by an extraordinary 25-yard strike from Lillie!
A sincere appreciation goes out to Accrington Stanley for making the journey, and we extend our best wishes for a successful season ahead.
